Serco Global Pulse Award 2009

In 2009 2nd Chance Project was awarded a Global Pulse Award for being one of Serco’s most effective community partners. This award represents our impact at HMP & YOI Ashfield in pioneering the use of sport for the desistance from crime.

2013 Beyond Sport Runner Up

In September 2013, 2nd Chance was shortlisted as a finalist for the 2013 Beyond Sport Awards. We nominated our Beyond the Bars programme in the Sport for Conflict Resolution category and made it down to the final three projects. As a result we were asked present our impact and best practice at the Global Summit in Philadelphia to people and organisations from around the world.

2013 Bristol Post Apprenticeship Training Provider of the Year

In July 2013, as part of Bristol Post’s apprenticeship campaign, 2nd Chance were nominated alongside other training providers across Bristol. Our unique approach to supporting our learners in the work place and going the extra mile, resulted in 2nd Chance winning  Bristol Apprenticeship Training Provider of the year.

2014 Community Participation Project of the Year Award

2nd Chance had an outstanding evening at the Cornwall Sports Awards in July 2014. We won the Community Participation Project of the Year Award, awarded by Cornwall County Sports Partnership. We were enormously proud that our former Coachmaker, now Tutor, Beth Wilshaw won the Under-25 ‘Coach of The Year’ Award.

Sports Leaders Academy Award 2015

A brand new award, the Sports Leaders UK Leadership Academy of the Year recognised 2nd Chance Group for ‘going the extra mile’ to deliver Sports Leaders UK courses and qualifications to a high level of success whilst acting as beacons of good practice to other organisations in our local area and the Criminal Justice System.

Social Enterprise Mark

We are proud to have achieved the Social Enterprise Mark which is the only internationally available social enterprise accreditation scheme, enabling credible social enterprises to prove that they are making a real difference to society, communities and the environment.
